What is brewing?

What both P & I wonder when I'm cooking.
He, about what I'm going to dish up.
Me, about the mischief that is brewing.

Mustard, chilli, onions disappear and make their appearance in chest of drawers in other rooms. I use workarounds at times, leave out ingredients some other times. Salt is the one thing one cannot cook without, so I have backed it up - twice.

Still, there was one time I was cooking potatoes and had to call S&P who were on their way to get a haircut - the heeng was missing (it is a crucial ingredient to counter the gassy effect of potato). 'Rightmost' I was told. 'Which room?', I asked.

P exulted in the same kind of mischief as a baby, crawling away quickly to hide things under the rug, into drawers or stashing them away under his cot. The giggling and cackling that follows hasn't changed either.

Here is a photograph of my kitchen "loft" - that is the lid of his cup lying up there. And everyone thinks he is a 'good boy'. Ha!

What can you not survive without in ur kitchen? Salt, my cooker, knife and chopping board
What don't u want to live without? Onions, tomatoes, sugar, masher

  3. Cute post!

And talking of chopping boards - I never use one. I can cut and dice without one, and my pals in Blighty were astounded by that always! They think all Indians can perform such ‘stupendous stunts' ;)

  4. Priya - :) Doesn't seem very cute at the time though

Chandrika - I guess I hadn't thought of cooking range because P can't run away with it!! :)

Chox - Really? That does sound almost like the great Indian rope trick! The only way that I wouldn't need to use one would be if I weren't the one chopping ;)
